Inspection links in your ArcGIS layers

Pioneer now writes back to the ArcGIS layers you import, adding a link to each asset's latest inspection and report, and Command Center can push corrected attributes back to your GIS.

Your GIS team works in ArcGIS, and your inspection results live in Pioneer. Connecting the two meant exporting results, matching asset IDs, and pasting links by hand. Pioneer already reads the ArcGIS layers you import. Now it writes back to them, so each pipe in ArcGIS points to its latest inspection.

Sync Pioneer links to ESRI

Open the menu on a layer you imported from ArcGIS and choose Sync Pioneer links to Esri. Pioneer finds each asset's most recent inspection and writes two fields onto that feature: a Pioneer Inspection URL and a Pioneer Report URL. The report link opens a saved copy of the inspection report, and each sync refreshes it. Click a pipe in ArcGIS and you land on the inspection and report behind it.

Pioneer adds the two link fields to the layer the first time you sync. It skips assets with no inspection and leaves your existing GIS fields and geometry alone. The sync runs in the background, so you can close the dialog while it works through a large layer.

Push corrected attributes back with Command Center

An inspection sometimes shows that your GIS has an attribute wrong, such as a pipe's material or diameter. Ask Command Center to compare inspections against your assets, correct the values in Pioneer, and push them back to ArcGIS. It writes only the mapped NASSCO fields on the assets you name, uses each asset's own values, and asks you to approve every push before it runs.

Improvements2›
  • IntegrationsWhen your ArcGIS sign-in has expired, the sync dialog says so and offers a button to reconnect, in place of a raw error message.
  • IntegrationsLink syncs page through large layers without stalling.
Fixes1›
  • IntegrationsA sync that hits a few features deleted in ArcGIS still writes every other link in the batch, in place of reporting hundreds of false failures.
