What You'll Do

  • Identify and acquire publicly available datasets online, and collaborate with local, state, and federal agencies to obtain relevant data
  • Gather geospatial data on wastewater networks and related features (e.g., soil conditions, water bodies, infrastructure, population density) from multiple sources
  • Create and maintain map layers
  • Analyze and organize geospatial data to support internal teams and systems
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance data quality and coverage.

Requirements

  • Experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of GIS concepts, map layers, and spatial data analysis
  • Proven ability to search for, acquire, and compile geospatial data from various sources
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with public entities and external data providers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with water/wastewater, civil engineering, construction, infrastructure, or environmental projects
  • Background in data visualization and spatial analysis tools
  • Familiarity with publicly available GIS datasets
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on improving data quality and coverage
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

70,000 - 85,000 USD per year (Walnut Creek, California)
